The Portsmouth Area Arts Council was founded in 1968 by Robert Fuller, a local and avid supporter of the arts, with the express purpose of promoting interest in and awareness of the arts in the Portsmouth area.

Student Members

In the 2022-2023 season, PAAC had over 150 student actors involved in our three Main Stage Children’s Theatre productions. During our fourteen seasons, PAAC’s Children’s Theatre has welcomed over 600 student members and has graduated over 50 alumni. Learn more about our Children’s Theatre here!

Local Children Impacted

Since 1995, PAAC has brought more than 160,000 school children to the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts for live theatre performances. We also tour educational theatre productions to school districts all across the Southern Ohio Appalachian region.
