Auditions
What to know before you audition:
Auditions usually take place on Shawnee State University’s campus or the Portsmouth STEM Academy.
There is no fee for any of our auditions.
If your child is cast in the show, be prepared for a commitment! Our rehearsal process is immersive and runs anywhere from 6-12 weeks between auditions and showtime. Schedule conflicts should be cleared with the director before accepting a part in the show.
Preparing for an audition is as easy as 1, 2, 3!
Prepare a 30-60 second cut from a song in a musical or Disney show/movie. This cut must be sung “a capella” (without background music).
Be ready to read from the script of the show alone and/or with others auditioning.
Have a positive attitude!
