Our 51st season is just as exciting as all the ones that have come before.

We will produce 2, full-length musicals, present two Shakespeare productions, take 6 different shows to area schools and are expecting as many as 15,000 audience members over the next 12 months.

Teachers, check out our selection of student matinées throughout the year at the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts. These matinées are priced to include all of your students, with shows starting at just $3 per seat. Each page includes curriculum connections to relate to your classroom and study guides are available once your class is registered.

Principals, we will be offering 6 different outreach shows this year ranging from preschool-12th grade subject matter. These shows are grant-funded through the Ohio Arts Council and available first-come, first-served.

Parents, have a child that loves to sing and dance? Send them to us and we’ll put them in a show! Participation in our Children’s Theatre productions is always free.

PAAC has something for everyone in your life who loves the arts. We can’t wait to see you this season and here’s to another wonderful 50 years!

Curriculum Connections: Language Arts, English Literature, Visual Arts, Relationships, Theatre, Drama

The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many “thinks.”

Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird.

Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him.

Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.

Tickets for the evening performance are $6-$12 and will be available at the McKinley Box Office by calling
(740) 351-3600 or at vrcfa.com.

Thursday & Friday student matinées are $3 a seat and group reservations can be made by registering online.

Seussical is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.

Four days will quickly steep themselves in night;

Four nights will quickly dream away the time;

And then the moon, like to a silver bow

New-bent in heaven, shall behold the night

Of our solemnities.

Such a serious way to start off one of the most uproaringly funny plays penned by William Shakespeare. PAAC brings back this teacher, student,  and audience favorite for two performances on Friday, November 30.

While it’s best studied by school groups 6th grade and up, this show can entertain audiences of all ages and is a great way to introduce younger family members to the world of Shakespeare.

Tickets are $5 per seat for both the daytime and evening performance.

Friday student matinée group reservations can be made by registering Online.

For tickets to the 7 pm show, see the McKinley Box Office by calling (740) 351-3600 or at vrcfa.com
